Begusarai: Bhojpuri film star and singer Akshara Singh appeared in Begusarai District Court on Tuesday in connection with a fraud case filed two years ago. The court granted her bail on a personal bond of Rs 10,000 after she surrendered before the judge.
Judge Om Prakash heard the bail plea filed by Akshara Singh’s lawyer and agreed to release her after taking her bond. The court had earlier summoned Akshara and her father Vipin Singh to appear before it in April 2025.
Reports say that when news spread that Akshara Singh would come to court, a huge crowd gathered outside Begusarai court premises to catch a glimpse of the Bhojpuri star. The local administration made tight security arrangements to control the crowd and maintain order.
The fraud case was filed by a man named Shivesh Mishra. He claimed that in October 2023, he paid Akshara Singh Rs 5.51 lakh for a two-hour singing event in Samastipur. According to him, the actress reached the event two and a half hours late and left after singing for only half an hour. He also alleged that she damaged the mic and refused to refund the money when asked.
After his requests for a refund went unanswered, Shivesh Mishra filed a complaint in court. The matter will now continue to be heard as Akshara Singh has secured bail for the time being.
