Patna: Patna Women’s College celebrated its annual Carmel Feast on Monday with a prayerful and cultural programme held in the Mother Veronica Auditorium. Although the official feast is on July 16, the college organised its formal celebrations on July 15 this year. The Carmel Feast is an important religious event for the college, honouring Our Lady of Mount Carmel, who is the Patroness of the Carmelite Order. Students and teachers gathered to seek blessings and thank Mother Mary for her guidance and protection.
The programme began with a graceful prayer dance on the devotional song “Prem Ki Moorat,” creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. Students then performed a powerful skit called “Soundarya Ki Rani Ma Carmel,” showing the victory of faith over idol worship. The skit included a hymn for Mother Mary and a soulful dance, which were appreciated by everyone present.
Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. addressed the gathering and shared warm wishes. She spoke about the importance of Mother Mary in their lives and praised the students and teachers for organising the event beautifully. Sister Rashmi said such celebrations remind everyone of the values of faith, devotion, and unity, which are the strength of the Carmel family.
The event was moderated by Vaishnavi from the Department of Microbiology and Priyani Pandey from Mass Communication. Soumya Vartika, Joint General Secretary of the Student Council, gave the vote of thanks. The celebration was organised under the guidance of Dr. Sister Nelsa A.C. and Sister Sanjana A.C., with coordination by Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Ms. Puja Kumari, and Ms. Kriti Rani. The day ended with everyone feeling grateful and spiritually refreshed.
