Purnia: Purnia Member of Parliament (MP) Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has held a crucial meeting with top officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Eastern Region, including the General Manager (GM) and Regional Executive Director, to review the progress of the Purnia Airport construction. During the meeting, MP Yadav issued a clear directive for the airport to be fully operational for passenger services by August 15.
The MP emphasized the urgent need to accelerate the construction work, underscoring its significance for the region.
“Flight of Dreams” for Seemanchal and Kosi
MP Pappu Yadav appealed to the officials to maintain prompt progress, ensuring that the people of the Seemanchal and Kosi regions gain access to air travel facilities soon. He passionately articulated that the Purnia Airport is “not just a construction project, but a flight of dreams for millions of people of Purnia and surrounding areas.”
He further asserted that this ambitious project is the culmination of his “tireless efforts,” which he claimed brought the construction work to fruition on the ground in just one year. The MP highlighted his consistent advocacy for the airport, including multiple meetings with the Civil Aviation Minister and continuously raising the issue in the Lok Sabha.

Pappu Yadav stressed the transformative potential of the airport, stating it would not only serve as a medium for economic and social development but also “open a new door to connect the people of Seemanchal with the whole country.” He expressed confidence that the public would directly benefit from this infrastructure, propelling Purnia to a new level of development.
