Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inspected the park being built along J.P. Ganga Path in Patna. This park is being developed by the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. Officials told him that the park is 500 metres long and is located between LCT Ghat and Kurji Ghat. It is part of the Patna Smart City Project and will become a new picnic spot for people.
The Chief Minister said that as the park is near the Ganga river, it should be built keeping in mind the safety and comfort of people visiting it. “Very good work is happening here. The greenery will increase and families will get a good place to spend time. Complete it soon,” he instructed the officials.
After visiting the park, Nitish Kumar checked the rising water level of the Ganga river in Patna. He travelled by road to see different ghats, starting from Kangan Ghat in Patna City to Nasriganj Ghat in Danapur. He also stopped at LCT Ghat, NIT Ghat, Digha Ghat, and other areas to understand the situation.
He told the officials to stay alert as the water level is increasing at many places like Nasriganj Ghat and Gandhi Ghat and the river current is strong. “Keep checking the low-lying areas near the river and be ready to help people if needed so that there is no damage,” he said. Senior officers, including Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar and District Magistrate Dr Thiyagarajan SM, were also present during the visit.
