Five Patna Police Officers Suspended After Chandan Mishra Murder

Five policemen in Patna were suspended for negligence after the murder of Chandan Mishra, as police tighten action against crime and careless officers

Patna: In a strict action after the murder of Chandan Mishra, five police officers in Patna were suspended on Saturday for negligence in their duty. This decision was taken during a field visit by Patna Central SP Diksha, who found these officers not alert at their assigned places.

Police officials said that apart from catching criminals, action is also being taken against those policemen who are careless in maintaining law and order. The suspended officers include one Sub-Inspector and two constables from Shastri Nagar police station who were not alert around Paras Hospital, where the murder incident has increased tension.

Another Sub-Inspector from Gandhi Maidan police station was suspended for being absent at Kargil Chowk, an important area in the city. One Sub-Inspector from Secretariat police station was suspended for being missing from his duty near Chitkohra Golambar, and another Sub-Inspector from Gardanibagh police station was suspended for not patrolling properly near Pataliputra Hotel.

Patna police have started strict checking drives, patrols, and the Roko-Toko campaign to control crime and maintain law and order. Senior officers are regularly inspecting police personnel to ensure they are present and alert on duty.
