Patna: Heavy rainfall continues to exacerbate difficulties across many districts of Bihar, causing rivers including the Ganga and Son to swell. The Meteorological Department has predicted further heavy rain for Sunday, issuing warnings for several regions.
An orange alert has been issued for parts of North Bihar on Sunday, cautioning residents about potential lightning and winds gusting at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Yellow Alert for Key Districts
A yellow alert for heavy rain has been declared for one or two places in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Purnia, Araria, and Kishanganj districts for both Sunday and Monday. This forecast indicates continued challenging weather conditions for these areas.
On Saturday, the state experienced a rise in both maximum and minimum temperatures. Supaul recorded the highest temperature at 38.2 degrees Celsius, while Dehri registered the lowest at 25 degrees Celsius. Purnia also experienced light drizzle on Saturday.
Patna’s Forecast: Partly Cloudy
The capital city, Patna, is expected to remain partly cloudy on Sunday. On Saturday, residents of Patna endured extreme heat due to strong sunlight and a high humidity level of 56%. The maximum temperature in the capital increased by 0.8 degrees, and the minimum temperature rose by 1.7 degrees, adding to the discomfort.
Authorities are advising residents in affected areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions amidst the ongoing heavy rainfall and flood-like conditions.
