Bihar IG Orders Police Station Heads to Stay at Work During Night Duty

Police station incharges in Bihar can no longer go home during night duty after strict orders from Range IG Jitendra Rana

Patna: Police station incharges across Bihar have been told to stay in their official residences at the police station during duty hours. Range IG Jitendra Rana issued these orders on Saturday to make policing faster and more effective. Earlier, many station incharges used to go back to their private homes during night duty. Because of this, they were often late in reaching crime scenes or accident spots.

The IG said that when incharges go home during duty, other officers have to call them on their mobile phones if there is any problem late at night. This delay affects the work of the police and can put public safety at risk. From now on, all police station incharges will have to stay in the police station itself so that they can reach anywhere on time whenever required.

Along with this, IG Rana also gave strict instructions to policemen doing night patrolling on foot. He said that patrolling officers should remain alert at all times and must stop and question anyone who seems suspicious. If any person tries to run away after seeing the police, his details should be flashed immediately on wireless so that he can be caught quickly.

The IG believes these steps will make policing stronger and more responsive. The decision is aimed at ensuring public trust in the police and improving law and order across Bihar. Police officers have been asked to follow these orders strictly without any excuse.
