Patna: The Bihar government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, held a cabinet meeting in Patna where 41 important proposals were approved. One of the biggest announcements was the approval of Rs 1,100 crore for the development of the Rajgir Sports Academy. This move is expected to improve sports facilities and training for youth in the state.
The cabinet also gave its nod to changes in the Journalist Pension Scheme. Journalists who were getting Rs 6,000 per month as pension will now receive Rs 15,000. This step was announced earlier by the Chief Minister and has now been officially approved. In another move, six posts have been created in the Bihar State Youth Commission to strengthen work related to young people.
Several other decisions were made in the meeting. The famous Sitakund Fair in Munger has been given the status of a national fair. Funds have also been approved for major infrastructure projects. Rs 675 crore has been allotted for the construction of Ram Manohar Lohia Path, while Rs 696 crore will go towards building a flyover in Chhapra. A new rail and road bridge will also be built from AIIMS Patna to Digha.
In addition, the cabinet approved the Kanya Udyog scheme to support girls in starting businesses. Rs 115 crore was sanctioned for the Anganwadi and Nutrition Scheme 2.0. New rules for appointments in the agriculture and rural works departments were also passed. These decisions show the state’s focus on development, youth, and public welfare.
