Patna: The Election Commission will set up special camps across Bihar from August 2 to September 1, giving voters an opportunity to file claims or objections regarding the draft electoral roll ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections. This move comes after a large-scale door-to-door verification process, and the draft voter list will be published on August 1.
According to officials, these special camps will operate daily from 10 am to 5 pm, including weekends. The camps will be organised at all block cum zonal offices and urban local body offices, including those of municipal corporations, Nagar Parishads, and Nagar Panchayats.
Any eligible voter whose name has been omitted or requires correction in the list can visit these camps with necessary documents to file a claim. Applications will also be accepted for inclusion, deletion, or modification of voter details. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been instructed to visit the homes of elderly and disabled voters to collect applications directly.
The Election Commission has emphasised that no eligible voter should be left out due to technical or administrative lapses. Acknowledgements will be provided for all applications submitted, and supporting documents or photographs may also be attached.
Officials said the process will run in mission mode to ensure inclusive and accurate voter registration. Orders for the same have been issued to all District Election Officers and District Magistrates across Bihar.
Earlier reports indicated that over 1,75,000 voters in Patna alone had moved to different locations, highlighting the urgency of updating the voter rolls accurately.
