Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated 71 newly procured police vehicles dedicated to traffic enforcement across the state. The vehicles, assigned to Deputy Superintendents of Police (Traffic) and traffic police stations, were flagged off from the Chief Minister’s official residence at 1 Anne Marg.
The initiative aims to enhance traffic monitoring, accident response, and enforcement of road safety regulations across national and state highways, as well as urban centres in various districts.

Before the formal flag-off, Kumar inspected the fleet and was briefed by officials on the vehicles’ features and intended use. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the addition of these vehicles would improve the efficiency and responsiveness of the state’s traffic police and contribute significantly to maintaining public order and road safety.
“These vehicles will not only improve traffic regulation but will also support effective implementation of traffic rules and help prevent accidents,” he said.
Director General of Police Vinay Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister with a symbolic presentation of a green plant.
