Patna: A fracture in a rail track between the Salimpur and Teka Bigha stations of the Danapur division on Monday evening disrupted train services for over an hour. The issue was first reported at 6:30 PM by the driver and guard of the Bhagalpur Intercity (train number 13402) to the Teka Bigha station master.
Acting quickly to ensure passenger safety, the station master immediately alerted the Danapur control room, which halted all train operations on the down line. A railway technical team was dispatched to the site and promptly began repair work on the fractured track.
The disruption caused several trains to be held up at various stations. The Patna-Jayanagar Namo Rapid Rail (94804) was stopped at Karauta station, while the Kamla Ganga Express (15528) was held at the Karauta loop. Other trains, including numbers 63222 and 63218, were also stopped at different stations along the route.
According to Anil Kumar, the Bakhtiyarpur in-charge, train operations on the down line resumed at 8:05 PM after the repair work was completed, a period of about one and a half hours.
