Saharsa: Dr Gopal Sharan Singh, a senior surgeon from Saharsa, has been elected unopposed as the vice-chairman of the Bihar chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) for the coming year. The result was announced by Dr Baidyanath Chaudhary of Gopalganj, who served as the election officer.
The president of ASI Bihar, Dr Gopal Sharan Singh, and the secretary, Dr Manish Mandal, congratulated him. They said his election was a proud moment for the organisation and praised his contribution to the medical field.
Dr Mandal said that the Bihar chapter has kept the dignity of the association intact by electing candidates unopposed for several years. He added that this culture of unity is not common in many other doctors’ groups, where elections often see competition and division.
Doctors including Dr Priyaranjan, Dr Sanjay Kumar Sinha, Dr Atul Verma and Dr Ashok Kumar Sinha of IGIC were present on the occasion. They expressed hope that under Dr Singh’s leadership, the association would continue to grow stronger.
