Kaimur: Tourism in Kaimur district is set to get a big boost as a houseboat facility is being launched for the first time at Karamchat Dam. The service will be inaugurated on 24 August by Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Dr Sunil Kumar. The houseboat has already arrived at the dam and trial runs are being carried out.
The houseboat will provide tourists with modern comforts such as an air-conditioned room, bathroom, kitchen and seating for 8 to 10 people. Food and drink arrangements will also be available, making it a unique experience for visitors who want to enjoy the dam’s natural beauty and greenery.
Officials said Karamchat Dam is already famous for its waterfalls and scenic surroundings. The new service will allow visitors to experience the area in a more adventurous and comfortable way. CF Ecotourism Satyajit Kumar said the project will also create jobs for local youth.
The launch is expected to increase tourism activity in Kaimur and benefit local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, guides, transport and handicrafts. Residents welcomed the move, saying it will highlight the district’s natural heritage while also supporting the local economy.
