Khagaria: A tragic incident has come to light from Khagaria district in Bihar where a 16-year-old boy ended his life after his father failed to buy him an iPhone. The boy, identified as Nikhil Kumar, was the son of Pankaj Kumar Singh, a labourer from Saidpur village under Mansi police station.
According to police, Nikhil had been demanding an iPhone for several days. His family, struggling with poor financial conditions, refused to fulfil the demand. Upset by this, the teenager hanged himself with a towel inside a poultry farm near his house on Saturday night.
The family discovered him on Sunday morning and rushed him to Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Nikhil was an intermediate student and the eldest among three siblings. His sudden death has left the family devastated.
Police said the family has refused a postmortem. An unnatural death case has been registered and the matter is under investigation.
