Patna: Police in Patna have raided a hotel in the Pirbahor area, uncovering what they allege to be a digitally operated sex racket. Two people were arrested during the operation and one woman was rescued, authorities confirmed.
The raid, led by a team under the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Town), followed a tip-off that a prostitution network was being run from a hotel on Ashoka Rajpath, a busy stretch in the heart of a residential area.
Officers said the operation was unusual because much of the business was conducted online, with photographs of women allegedly circulated via WhatsApp to potential clients.
During the search, police seized a number of items from the premises, including mobile phones, condoms and potency-enhancing pills.
