Patna: A meeting of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) was held in Patna on Thursday, where elected representatives and members of the committee gave several suggestions to improve passenger services under East Central Railway. The meeting was led by General Manager Chhatrasal Singh, who assured that all issues raised would be taken seriously.
The gathering saw the participation of seven MPs, one MLA and 25 other members. Those present included MPs Upendra Kushwaha, Rampreet Mandal, Bhim Singh, Ashok Kumar Yadav, Chandra Prakash Chaudhary, Manish Jaiswal and Shambhavi, along with MLA Ramniwas Shah. Members highlighted the need for better facilities for passengers and stronger focus on public expectations.
General Manager Singh welcomed the dignitaries and said that East Central Railway is constantly working to improve efficiency and performance. He stressed that “passenger facility” remains the railway’s top priority. According to him, the suggestions received from members were valuable and would help in making railway services more passenger-friendly.
During the discussions, members raised points on cleaner and more comfortable waiting areas, faster and more reliable train services, and better arrangements at major railway stations. They also pressed for long-term development of railway infrastructure in the region to meet growing demand. Singh assured that all these ideas had been noted and said, “Your suggestions give us guidance, and appropriate action will be taken.”
The meeting ended with Additional General Manager Amarendra Kumar thanking all the MPs, MLA and members for taking time to attend and share their views. He added that such meetings help the railway administration understand the needs of passengers and move forward in the right direction.
Railway officials later said that the ZRUCC plays an important role in linking the railway with the public. The ideas and feedback from elected representatives and members are expected to shape future projects and help improve the travel experience for millions of passengers in Bihar and neighbouring states.
