Patna: Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, launched a blistering attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a rally in Patna, accusing the ruling party of widespread vote theft and promising a “hydrogen bomb” revelation.
Addressing supporters during the Voter Adhikar Yatra, Gandhi claimed that elections in Maharashtra had been “stolen” from the Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena, alleging that the Election Commission colluded with the BJP to manipulate the outcome. “About one crore new voters were added to the voter list after the Lok Sabha elections. Our alliance had the same votes in the Vidhan Sabha as we got in the Lok Sabha. All the new votes went to BJP. This is because the Election Commission and BJP together have stolen votes,” he said. Gandhi cited instances of alleged fake voting in Bengaluru Central, saying, “Where there were one lakh fake votes, we lose, and with the same votes, BJP wins the Lok Sabha elections.”
Gandhi also issued a direct warning to BJP leaders, likening his upcoming revelations to a “hydrogen bomb.” “BJP people, get ready. Hydrogen bomb is coming. The whole country is going to know your truth about vote theft. After the hydrogen bomb, Narendra Modi will not be able to show his face to this country,” he said.
He framed the alleged vote manipulation as part of a broader assault on democracy. “Vote theft means theft of rights, theft of reservation, theft of democracy, theft of the future of the youth,” Gandhi said. “They are not just taking votes but will take away your land and ration card and give it to Adani and Ambani. The same forces that killed Mahatma Gandhi are trying to kill Gandhi and Ambedkar’s constitution.”
The Congress leader said the Voter Adhikar Yatra, which has drawn significant participation from Bihar’s youth, demonstrated widespread public support for the protection of electoral rights.
