Patna: A car carrying five businessmen rammed into a moving truck under the Maholi flyover in the Parsa Bazar area, killing all occupants on the spot.
The accident occurred around 1 a.m. while the businessmen were traveling from Fatuha to Patna. The car hit the truck from behind, and the impact was so severe that the vehicle became lodged under the truck and was dragged for nearly 25 meters. Witnesses reported a loud explosion following the collision, leaving the car completely mangled.
Parsa Bazar police and Patna Sadar DSP Ranjan Kumar rushed to the scene after receiving the information. Police, with assistance from local villagers, had to cut open the vehicle using a gas cutter to retrieve the bodies. The victims were later sent to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for postmortem.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Rajesh Kumar, 50, of Gopalpur
- Sanjay Kumar, 38
- Kamal Kishore, 38, of Sipara
- Prakash Chaurasia, 35
- Sunil Kumar, 30, of Muzaffarpur
Parsa Bazar police station in-charge Maneka Rani confirmed, “All five people died on the spot and were trapped inside the car. The police reached immediately, and with help from locals, the bodies were recovered and sent to PMCH for postmortem.”
Initial reports suggest that the truck driver was unaware of the collision as the car became lodged under his vehicle. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to this tragic accident.
