Katihar/Patna: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out raids in Bihar’s Katihar district in connection with a case linked to the Pulwama terror attack. One man, identified as Iqbal, was taken into custody for questioning from Balughat under Semapur police station.
Officials said searches were conducted at the homes of suspects Noor Alam, Hashim, Nizam and Iqbal in the localities of Durgapur and Balughat. A mobile phone and SIM card belonging to Noor Alam were also seized. Rizabul, another accused, is currently in jail, while Iqbal had earlier been arrested under the Arms Act.
The Katihar operation formed part of a coordinated series of raids across five states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Nine locations were searched in Jammu and Kashmir, while eight locations were targeted in Bihar.
According to officials, the raids were based on intelligence inputs about terrorist conspiracy and were aimed at disrupting terror funding networks and preventing potential attacks.
