New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids at 16 locations across eight states in connection with the Vijayanagaram ISIS conspiracy case of Andhra Pradesh. The crackdown covered Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Delhi.
According to officials, the case pertains to a plot to radicalize youth through social media platforms and prepare them for terror-related activities, including the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
During the searches, the NIA seized several digital devices, incriminating documents, cash, and other objectionable materials that could be linked to the conspiracy.
The investigation has already led to the arrest of Arif Hussain, also known as Tati Abu Talib, on August 27, 2025. He was allegedly attempting to flee to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, when security agencies intercepted him.
The NIA said further questioning of Hussain and the analysis of seized items will help in identifying others involved in the network and uncovering the larger conspiracy.
