Patna: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will operate a Bharat Gaurav tourist train from Saharsa for the first time, offering a 13-day journey across South India’s religious and cultural sites.
Regional manager Rajesh Kumar Sinha announced in Patna on Tuesday that the train will set off on December 5, with a package code of EZBG26. The tour, which will last 12 to 13 days, includes visits to Tirupati, Rameswaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram and the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga.
The train has 600 seats, with more than 400 still available. Fares are set at Rs 25,620 for economy (sleeper class), Rs 35,440 for standard (3AC) and Rs 49,175 for comfort (2AC). The cost covers accommodation, sightseeing, meals and healthcare. According to IRCTC, the train has been fitted with upgraded facilities, including a canteen, security arrangements and a small temple.
Passengers will be able to board at multiple stations, including Saharsa, Supaul, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar and Prayagraj Chhinki. Bookings can be made via the IRCTC tourism website, regional office in Patna, WhatsApp, or dedicated helpline numbers.
Alongside the Bharat Gaurav service, IRCTC is also launching a flight package: a six-night, seven-day Thailand tour from Patna starting on November 5, priced at Rs 60,550.
