Gopalganj: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Sabeya Airport in Hathua block on Sunday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs185 crore. During his visit, he also inspected stalls set up by women’s self-help groups, popularly known as Jeevika sisters, and praised them for their dedication and high-quality products. The Chief Minister said such initiatives empower women and help them become self-reliant while contributing to the local economy.
The projects inaugurated and laid the foundation for included improvements in roads, education, health, irrigation, and other essential services. Addressing the workers and officials present, Kumar highlighted the government’s achievements in the district and assured the people that the state government remains committed to development. He urged locals to take advantage of the schemes and instructed officials to ensure all work was carried out with quality and transparency.
Across the district, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 124 schemes worth Rs1,295.85 crore and inaugurated 61 schemes valued at Rs289.74 crore. Key departments involved included Education, Health, Rural Development, Agriculture, Energy, Social Welfare, and Panchayati Raj. Several ministers and senior officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Education Minister Sunil Kumar, and Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha, were present alongside MLAs and other public representatives to witness the event.
The launch of these projects created a wave of excitement among residents of Hathua and nearby areas. Locals said the schemes would transform the district’s infrastructure, improve farming and irrigation, strengthen education and healthcare, and create new job opportunities. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of women’s, youth, and farmer empowerment and directed officials to ensure effective and timely implementation of all projects, aiming to make Gopalganj a model district for development across Bihar.
