Patna: Calls of “Free Palestine” echoed through Buddha Smriti Park on Sunday evening as nearly a hundred people gathered for a peaceful demonstration expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine. The event, organised by the group Indian People in Solidarity with Palestine (IPSP), brought together students, artists, and local activists for an evening of speeches, poetry, paintings and songs.
The gathering began with slogans for peace and freedom, followed by short addresses from IPSP members and invited speakers. Varuni, speaking on behalf of the organisation, told the crowd, “You don’t need to be from a certain religion to stand with Palestine. This is about humanity.”

Aakash Anand, one of the speakers, said the event was about giving voice to those who are unheard. “Today we raised our voices for those whose voices are being ignored,” he said, urging people to remain compassionate and informed. Vishal, another participant, added that “art and poetry help us remember the human beings behind headlines.”
Participants read out poems, sang songs, and showcased artwork reflecting on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the need for global solidarity. Leaflets were distributed to passersby, outlining the situation in Palestine and encouraging continued civic engagement.

The peaceful demonstration drew residents and onlookers, many of whom stayed to listen and share their perspectives. The organisers said the event was not only an act of solidarity but also part of a broader effort to foster awareness and empathy within local communities.
The evening concluded with a moment of silence for civilians affected by the conflict, reinforcing the collective call for peace and justice.
