Patna: The implementation of a new provision in land registration has resulted in a decline in revenue collection, prompting serious concern within the department. In response, all districts have been directed to devise action plans to expedite the process and facilitate the smoother implementation of the new provision.
The matter was recently reviewed by the Divisional Commissioner, who discussed it in a meeting with District Magistrates from all districts, stressing the need to accelerate revenue collection. Subsequently, directives were issued to conduct awareness campaigns in the affected areas.
To spearhead this initiative, Senior Deputy Collector of District Revenue Archives has been appointed as the nodal officer. Tasked with raising awareness about the new provision, the officer will engage with communities to expedite land registration and boost revenue collection.
Senior Deputy Collector Saurabh Raj stated that they have received information about the departmental order and will soon launch awareness campaigns in the respective areas. The initiative will involve collaborating with zonal officers to identify and address any issues or challenges hindering the registration process.
Notably, individuals will not be authorized to sell or donate land if it is not registered in their name. The recent decline in land registration prompted immediate action as revenue collection began to decrease. Consequently, efforts are underway to raise awareness through community outreach programs and camps in affected areas.
