Patna: In a significant development ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, Ravishankar Singh Ashok, the state vice-president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), tendered his resignation from both his party post and membership on Monday. The decision, announced at a press briefing at the Dashrath Nandan Complex in the Nagar Parishad area, also saw a considerable number of his supporters leaving the party alongside him.
Speaking to reporters, Singh Ashok explained that despite serving the party diligently for the past five years and strengthening its organisation in the Suryagarha Assembly constituency, his efforts had not met the leadership’s satisfaction. “I have worked as a loyal soldier of the party for the last five years, particularly in Suryagarha, yet my work did not satisfy the party. Therefore, I am resigning from both my position and membership,” he stated.
Singh Ashok also revealed his intention to contest the upcoming elections from Suryagarha as an independent candidate, with formal nomination filing scheduled for October 17. His exit, along with his supporters, is expected to create ripples within LJP (Ram Vilas) and may influence voter dynamics in the constituency.
