Patna: As the nomination process gains momentum in Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary filed his nomination papers on Thursday from the Tarapur Assembly seat in Munger district. Choudhary, who represents the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been declared the NDA’s joint candidate from the constituency — a seat previously held by the Janata Dal (United).
The nomination event took place at the Tarapur subdivision office, where Choudhary was accompanied by JD(U) MLA Rajeev Singh, the sitting legislator from the constituency. Despite losing his ticket due to the seat transfer within the NDA, Singh expressed solidarity with the Deputy CM.
“Earlier, Samrat Bhai used to campaign for me — now I’ll stand with all my strength to ensure his victory,” Singh said, signalling strong intra-alliance unity.
Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination, Choudhary said, “Tarapur has witnessed significant development under NDA governance. The people’s trust remains our greatest strength, and with their blessings, we’ll continue to advance the region’s growth.”
