Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed a packed gathering in Begusarai, where he set the tone for the BJP-led NDA’s campaign in Bihar with a rousing message to the electorate.
“हमने जंगलराज को सुशासन में बदला, अब सुशासन को समृद्धि में बदलने का समय है,” said PM Modi, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
He further added that the NDA’s governance was centered on people’s welfare and everyday comfort.
“नरेंद्र और नीतीश के लिए तो आपकी सुविधा, आपका जीवन ही सबसे ऊपर है।” PM Modi said, striking an emotional chord.
The Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on the RJD-Congress alliance, accusing it of dividing Bihar on the lines of caste and religion. “Those who ruled Bihar for decades only thought about their own families. They divided society and neglected development. They couldn’t even build bridges over the Ganga,” Modi said.
Taking a sharp dig, he said the RJD-Congress brand itself drives investors away. “The moment investors hear their names, they run. These are the same people who gave jobs in exchange for land. Do we want to return to that era?”
The Prime Minister highlighted the NDA’s infrastructural achievements, claiming that North and South Bihar have been linked through new modern bridges over the Ganga River. “Next to the old Rajendra Setu, we’ve built a six-lane bridge — a bridge of hope, unity, and progress,” Modi said.
He accused the opposition of being “insensitive and self-serving,” alleging that they even mocked flood victims. “Their arrogance and apathy kept Bihar poor for decades. But now, Bihar will not tolerate divisive politics anymore,” he said.
PM Modi painted a vision of Bihar’s future, urging the people to move beyond the politics of division. “The time has come to take Bihar from good governance to prosperity — from the politics of division to the politics of development,” he said, reminding the crowd that their support could turn the state’s progress into a shared reality for all Biharis.
