Bihar CM Nitish Takes Swipe at Lalu Over ‘Too Many Children’
Katihar: In a spirited address at a public rally in Katihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took aim at the perceived nepotism within the Lalu-Rabri family, questioning the proliferation of political roles among their offspring. Nitish’s remarks, delivered with a touch of humor, stirred the crowd as he remarked on the family’s involvement in politics.
“Does anyone give birth to so many children?” Nitish quipped, referencing former CMs Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi’s family. “First, when he himself stepped down, he made his wife the CM, now nowadays he is busy taking care of the children,” he added, alluding to the succession of familial roles within the political landscape.
Addressing a large gathering at Dumariya High School ground in Dandkhora, Nitish urged voters to prioritize development by supporting the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate. The rally, in support of JD (U) candidate Dulalchand Goswami, attracted over 5,000 attendees who began arriving as early as 9 am to hear the Chief Minister speak.
During his 40-minute address, Nitish underscored his administration’s developmental achievements and emphasized the need for continued progress. He also highlighted efforts aimed at minority communities, urging voters to consider the track record of their elected representatives.
Referring to his opponents, Nitish challenged their claims of achievement, asserting, “His son kept saying that I have given him a job. What has he done? We have given him the job.” Promising further opportunities, Nitish pledged to address employment concerns, vowing to increase job opportunities in the region.
Dulalchand Goswami, the NDA candidate, seeks reelection in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 26. Goswami previously contested in 2019, securing victory against senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar with a significant margin of 57,203 votes.
