Amit Shah in Katihar

Katihar: Katihar witnessed a fiery speech from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday as he launched a blistering attack on leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing them of presiding over a ‘Jungle Raj’ during their governance tenure in Bihar.

Speaking at a public rally in Katihar, Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing significant improvements to the lives of the underprivileged. He hailed Modi’s efforts in eradicating nepotism and casteism, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of all citizens.

Referring to the alliance between Lalu Yadav’s RJD and the Congress party in the ongoing elections, Shah cautioned against returning to the tumultuous era of the Lalu-Rabri regime, characterized by lawlessness and discrimination. He accused the Congress of historically neglecting backward classes and obstructing initiatives aimed at their upliftment.

Shah credited the Nitish Kumar-led government for curbing atrocities and bringing development to Bihar, including electrification and infrastructure improvements. He warned against reverting to the “Lantern era” of governance, alluding to the opposition’s alleged regressive agenda.

Highlighting the Modi government’s achievements, Shah underscored the abolition of Article 370, the crackdown on terrorism, and the promotion of inclusive governance. He praised Modi’s swift response to terrorist attacks, including surgical strikes and airstrikes in Pakistan following incidents like Uri and Pulwama.

Shah also emphasized the BJP’s commitment to social justice, noting Modi’s status as the first OBC Prime Minister and the representation of backward communities in his cabinet. He highlighted initiatives such as free ration distribution, toilet construction, and the Ujjwala gas scheme as evidence of the government’s dedication to the welfare of the masses.
