Sasaram/Patna: In a shocking incident highlighting the extreme consequences of honor-related violence, a father in Bikramganj in Rohtas district has allegedly beaten his 17-year-old daughter to death after discovering her love affair with her cousin.

The tragic event unfolded when the enraged father, identified as Ramabhju Mahato, assaulted his daughter, leading to her demise during treatment.

The incident came to light after the girl’s aunt, who attempted to intervene during the assault, managed to escape and alert the authorities. She too was reportedly assaulted by Mahato before she could flee.

Following the horrific act, the father, Ramabhju Mahato, is currently absconding. Bikramgunj police have launched an investigation into the murder and are actively searching for the accused.
