Buxar: Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav on Wednesday declared his outfit as the “original party of Lalu Prasad Yadav,” asserting that he is the true heir to his father’s political legacy.
Speaking at a rally in Murar village of Chaugain block, Buxar, Tej Pratap — who arrived by helicopter to campaign for his party’s candidate from Dumraon constituency — raised concerns over Bihar’s education crisis, unemployment, and governance.
“Bihar is lagging behind on all three fronts — education, employment, and administration,” he said, adding that people themselves can now feel the absence of quality education and the havoc created by joblessness.
Claiming allegiance to Lalu Yadav’s ideology, Tej Pratap declared, “Jan Shakti Janata Dal is Lalu Yadav’s original party. We are walking on his path.”
He also launched a veiled attack on political rivals, saying, “A Jaychand is after me, but I am not afraid.” Using his trademark flamboyant tone, he warned supporters against deceitful figures in politics: “Many imposters are roaming around — don’t fall for them, or Bihar will go five years backward.”
Tej Pratap further alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to remove him from his previous party and even drive him out of his home. “They plotted against me,” he said, referring to what he described as political betrayal.
The fiery speech drew applause from his supporters, who cheered as the leader positioned himself as a defender of his father’s socialist and secular ideals.
