Patna: Union Minister and BJP National President J.P. Nadda launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leadership while addressing a public rally in Patna on Friday, accusing the Lalu Prasad’s era of “insulting Bihar’s dignity and halting its progress.”
Recalling the RJD government’s 15-year rule from 1990 to 2005, Nadda said, “When anyone went to demand a road, Lalu Yadav would mock them, saying that once roads are built, the police will come and arrest you. That was their idea of governance.”
He criticised Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks on migration, saying that the exodus of workers was glorified during his father’s tenure. “Lalu Yadav used to say that Biharis go wearing angauchha and return wearing suits and ties. That was not pride — that was Bihar’s insult,” Nadda said. He added that the BJP’s manifesto promises government jobs to one crore people, signalling a vision for “employment-led dignity.”
Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal also took aim at the Congress, accusing it of disrespecting Hindu beliefs. “Insulting Sanatan Dharma, Hindu ideology, and Hindu deities has been the Congress’s habit,” Jaiswal said. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s comment on Chhath Puja during his Muzaffarpur rally, he said, “Calling the grand festival of folk faith a drama is an insult to Bihar’s culture.”
