Patna: Promoting holistic well-being among the elderly, Mahavir Senior Citizen Hospital, the latest addition to the Mahavir Temple Trust’s healthcare initiatives, has inaugurated regular yoga sessions. The new yoga department, spearheaded by experienced instructor Omkar Nath Giri, commenced operations on Wednesday, May 1st, at the hospital premises on Rajiv Nagar Road No. 24 H, Patna.
Omkar Nath Giri, a postgraduate in Yoga, highlighted that alongside routine yoga sessions, specialized counseling tailored to specific ailments will be provided. Dr. Nikhil Goyal, Joint Medical Superintendent of Mahavir Senior Citizen Hospital, outlined the schedule, with yoga sessions scheduled from 8 am to 11 am every weekday, except Sundays. Senior citizens can avail themselves of this service for a nominal monthly fee of Rs 250, while the general public will be charged Rs 500 per month. A minimal registration fee of Rs 10 is applicable for consultation.
Moreover, Mahavir Senior Citizen Hospital has been offering outpatient department (OPD) services across eight specialties since March 15 this year, catering to diverse medical needs. Patients can access expert consultations for a mere Rs 10 registration fee. Dr. Nikhil Goyal elaborated on the range of services, including mental health, internal medicine, dentistry, gynecology, and obstetrics, available daily. Additionally, specialist consultations are available weekly in four departments, with ophthalmology, ENT, orthopedics, dermatology, and cancer screening services also provided.
The hospital’s commitment to accessible healthcare is further evident in its blood testing facility, offered at concessional rates aligned with Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) standards. Patients falling below the poverty line or holding Ayushman cards benefit from free blood tests, with the Mahavir Temple covering investigation expenses.
Acharya Kishore Kunal, Secretary of Mahavir Temple Trust, emphasized the hospital’s mission to prioritize the physical and mental well-being of senior citizens. To ensure effective governance and oversight, a nine-member governing body, chaired by former Chief Secretary Vijay Shankar Dubey, has been established, underscoring the institution’s dedication to excellence in elderly care.
