Bhagalpur: As campaigning for the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections drew to a close on Sunday, Bollywood actor Neha Sharma brought glamour and energy to the political stage, leading a massive roadshow in support of her father, Congress candidate Ajit Sharma.
Ajit Sharma, contesting from the Bhagalpur Assembly seat as the Grand Alliance candidate, rode alongside his daughter in an open jeep as thousands of supporters followed in a long convoy of vehicles waving Congress flags and chanting slogans of “Ajit Sharma Zindabad” and “Congress Party Zindabad.”
Neha Sharma, waving to cheering crowds, urged voters to ensure a decisive win for her father. “My father and your leader have worked tirelessly for the city’s development. Bhagalpur deserves continued progress — please support him once again,” she told the gathering.

Speaking to supporters, Neha said, “The people of Bhagalpur have always showered my father with love and blessings. He has left no stone unturned in serving this region. As a daughter of Bhagalpur, I appeal to all of you to bless him with victory once more.”
Before the roadshow, Neha and Ajit Sharma visited the Budhanath Temple to offer prayers. Their rally began outside the temple premises and wound through major parts of the city — including Naya Bazaar, Sarai, Narga Chowk, Champa Nagar, Medini Nagar, and Tatarpur — before concluding near the railway station.
Crowds of women and youth gathered at various points to welcome Neha, showering her with garlands and flowers.
Ajit Sharma, who is seeking re-election for the third time, faces BJP’s Rohit Pandey from the NDA. Neha, who has been actively supporting her father’s campaign, previously joined him in roadshows during earlier election seasons as well.
