As a cool breeze settles over Bihar, visitors have begun returning in large numbers to the state’s parks and wildlife attractions. Patna Zoo, Rajgir Zoo Safari and Eco Park reported a significant rise in footfall over the weekend, signalling the start of the winter tourism season.
On Sunday alone, more than 13,300 people visited Patna Zoo, marking one of the highest single-day turnouts this year. According to officials, the zoo generated ₹7.02 lakh in revenue from tickets, boating, the aquarium, the children’s park and the souvenir shop. Entry to the 3D theatre was free, attracting 702 visitors.
The rush was similar at Eco Park, where over 8,000 people arrived to enjoy boating and outdoor activities. Families, children and morning walkers formed the bulk of Sunday’s crowd.
Priority package in high demand at Rajgir Safari
At Rajgir Zoo Safari and Nature Safari, the newly introduced priority package has become a major draw. Priced at ₹2,000 for adults and ₹1,000 for children, it offers visitors access to all major attractions, including:

Rifle shooting
The package also allows tourists to skip long queues — a feature that has driven demand sharply upward. Only 40 priority tickets are issued each day.
Rajgir Zoo Safari director Ram Sundar M said the scheme has proved especially popular among families and international tourists, who value convenience and the combination of experiences in a single ticket.
Winter boost for Bihar tourism
Tourism officials say the onset of winter traditionally brings crowds to nature spots across Bihar, with Patna and Rajgir leading the list. With temperatures dipping steadily, the festive season approaching and outdoor excursions becoming more pleasant, footfall is expected to rise further in the coming weeks.
