Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) held its annual Management Case Conference (MCC–2025) online on Monday, convening academics, researchers and industry professionals from across India to present and debate case studies on sustainable and innovative management practices.
The conference opened with a welcome address by Prof. Ranjit Tiwari, Associate Professor at CIMP, followed by the Inaugural Address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, the institute’s Director. The session was attended by Mr. Kumod Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer, and Prof. Sunil Kumar, Associate Dean, adding institutional weight to the proceedings.
In his remarks, Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh underlined the importance of case-based pedagogy as an experiential learning approach that “bridges the gap between theory and practice”, strengthening analytical and decision-making skills among management students.
The programme featured two keynote speakers:

Prof. Pradeepta Sethi, Professor at TAPMI Manipal, who spoke on “the dilemma of choosing the right from right options”, calling it a defining challenge in managerial decision-making.

Mr. Dinesh Saboo, CFA, writer, speaker and former CEO of Finmeraki, who stressed the rising need to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into case teaching and to train students to engage with AI tools responsibly and effectively.
This year’s edition received 32 case submissions, of which 20 were accepted and 14 were ultimately registered for presentation after a rigorous review process.
Two thematic tracks
The conference ran across two parallel tracks:

Track I (11:00am–1:24pm), chaired by Prof. Debi Prasad Satapathy of XIM University, Bhubaneswar, featured cases spanning governance, sustainability, industrial efficiency and responsible production.

Track II (2:11pm–4:30pm), chaired by Prof. Manvendra Pratap Singh of NIT Rourkela, explored corporate sustainability, financial literacy, e-grocery supply chains and cooperative-led rural prosperity.
Participants represented a broad range of institutions including BML Munjal University, Fore School of Management, NIT Rourkela, Alliance University, IMI Kolkata, Ahalia School of Management (Kerala), NIT Bhopal, Amity Business School, YBN University, and CIMP.
The sessions showcased solution-oriented case work across governance, sustainability, behavioural management, employee well-being, circular economy models and financial literacy, collectively reinforcing the need for sustainable and inclusive management practices aligned with India’s development priorities.

Closing session
The Valedictory Session was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh in the presence of Mr. Kumod Kumar and Prof. Sunil Kumar, followed by a Vote of Thanks from Prof. Santosh Kumar, Associate Professor.
MCC–2025 reaffirmed CIMP’s commitment to strengthening case-based learning, promoting sustainable management practices and deepening collaboration between academia and industry.
