Patna: A powerful explosion in Delhi on Monday evening has left 12 people dead, including a young man from Bihar, as the city reels from one of its deadliest recent attacks. The blast occurred near a traffic signal close to the Red Fort Metro Station, police said.
Among the victims was 22-year-old Pankaj Sahni, a cab driver from Samastipur district in Bihar. Sahni, who was on his way to drop a relative at the station, was killed when his vehicle was engulfed in the explosion. His grandfather reportedly last spoke to him at around 4:30 pm. Sahni was the son of Rambalak Sahni of Hasanpur Fatehpur, Ward No. 7, in the Khanpur police station area. His family has been plunged into mourning.
Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, expressed profound grief over the loss of life, describing the incident as ādeeply tragic.ā He offered prayers for the families affected and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
Police investigations into the cause of the blast are ongoing, and authorities have appealed to the public to remain vigilant in the aftermath of the incident.
