Patna: The News Pinch–AI Politics exit poll has predicted a photo finish between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition Mahagathbandhan in the two-phase Bihar Assembly election, which concluded on Tuesday evening.
Based on a sample size of more than 4,00,000 respondents across all 38 districts, the exit poll projects that the NDA may win 121 seats, the Mahagathbandhan close behind with 119, and others securing three.
According to Abhinav Pandey of News Pinch, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is set to emerge as the single largest party with 97 seats, followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with 93.
Saurabh Tripathi of News Pinch said the BJP is expected to post the best strike rate, winning 93 out of 101 seats it contested, while Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) is likely to be reduced to 25 seats.
The Congress is projected to secure mere 16 seats, the Left parties around six, and Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) about three of the 29 seats it contested.
Despite generating buzz during the campaign, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj is unlikely to win a seat but may register a vote share of 12.7%, indicating a modest foothold in Bihar’s political landscape.
