Patna: After Bihar’s state elections, tensions within the Lalu Prasad family have escalated, with elder son Tej Pratap Yadav issuing a stark warning to his younger brother, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. The controversy surrounding Rohini Acharya, Tej Pratap’s sister, has further fuelled the unrest.
Posting on his party, the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) Instagram account, Tej Pratap questioned the current direction of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), writing: “If you expel everyone, who will remain? This is the question the public is now asking.”
He cited the party’s electoral performance over the past decade, highlighting a steady decline: “80 seats in 2015, 75 seats in 2020, and 25 seats in 2025.” Tej Pratap claimed that, despite being expelled from the party in the past, he remained committed to its cause. “When I was removed, people thought, ‘Tej Pratap is useless, what difference will it make?’ But when I came out and exposed the truth about the ‘new RJD’, the public realised what they had lost,” he wrote.
Tej Pratap’s social media post also took aim at the RJD’s current leadership and treatment of women within the party. “First I was removed, then my goddess-like sister, Rohini ji. The whole of Bihar was laughing, but the family that once made people laugh and cry has itself become the butt of jokes. Today, the voices of the sisters and daughters of Bihar are demanding justice, and I promise, whoever dares to challenge that honour will be destroyed.”
He warned that the party’s decline could accelerate. “Remember, next time, it won’t take long to reduce from 25 to 5. This is just a 20-day feat. If I had campaigned across Bihar, we would have won only five seats this time. The people of Bihar have understood that RJD is no longer a party with Lalu’s ideology, but has become a party taken over by Jaichands,” he added.
