Patna: Apple has expanded its consumer protection ecosystem in India with the launch of new AppleCare+ safety plans, including a theft-and-loss cover that promises users a replacement iPhone if their device is stolen or misplaced. The move gives Indian customers a long-awaited alternative to third-party insurance.
Under the upgraded scheme, AppleCare+ now lets users file two claims a year for theft or loss. The plan begins at Rs. 799 per month, while the annual premium for theft-and-loss protection is Rs. 9,588. If an iPhone is stolen or accidentally lost, Apple will issue a replacement unit—provided the user is enrolled under the plan.
AppleCare+ is Apple’s official protection programme, extending warranty support across the iPhone, Mac, iPad, Watch, Display, Apple TV, HomePod and Apple headphones. The subscription provides technical assistance, hardware repair, accidental damage coverage and battery replacement when capacity dips below the approved threshold.
A Big Step for Indian iPhone Users
For years, Indian iPhone owners relied on external insurers for protection against theft and loss—often facing cumbersome claim processes and inconsistent coverage. Apple’s in-house policy aims to close this gap, offering a more seamless, trusted alternative within its ecosystem.
The new plan covers all iPhone models from the iPhone 13 series to the latest iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone SE.
Unlimited Repairs, Original Parts and Priority Service
Beyond theft and loss, AppleCare+ gives users unlimited accidental damage repairs using genuine Apple parts. All service is handled either at Apple’s four retail stores—in Mumbai (BKC), Delhi (Saket), Bengaluru (Hebbal) and Pune (Koregaon Park)—or through Apple-authorised service providers across the country.
Customers can locate service centres via the Apple Support app, online Support Finder, or the official website.
How to Check If Your Device Is Eligible
Eligibility for AppleCare+ can be checked directly through the Settings app on any iPhone, iPad or Mac. Users can browse available plans, view pricing and subscribe instantly. The plan can also be accessed through Apple’s official support website.
