Patna: A day after being sworn in for a record tenth term, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has allocated portfolios to the 26 ministers inducted into the new NDA government. The list of ministers with allocation of their departments was submitted to governor Arif Mohammad Khan by the Chief Minister. The coalition, comprising the JD(U), BJP, HAM (S), LJP (Ram Vilas) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha, has divided control of major departments ranging from finance to health, education and rural administration.
Nitish has retained the General Administration Department, Cabinet Secretariat, and several unallocated portfolios. The BJP, which holds the largest share in the new cabinet, has secured several key ministries, including finance, health, road construction and agriculture.

Under the allocation, Samrat Chaudhary has been given charge of the Finance and Commercial Tax departments, placing him at the centre of the state’s fiscal planning. Vijay Kumar Sinha will oversee Revenue and Land Reforms, a critical department in a state with frequent land-related disputes.
