Patna: Bihar is experiencing normal weather conditions due to moist easterly winds originating from the Bay of Bengal. Increased humidity from easterly winds has provided respite from the recent scorching heat and heatwave conditions. The current weather pattern is expected to persist for the next five days.
Patna and its surrounding areas will continue to see cloud movement on Thursday, with scattered rainfall and strong winds forecasted in certain locations. Northern parts of the state can expect light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
The Patna Meteorological Center has identified a cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh, adjacent West Bengal, and west Bihar. This system is contributing to the widespread cloud cover and ongoing strong winds across the region.
Over the past 24 hours, most northern areas of Bihar recorded light to moderate rainfall. The highest rainfall was observed in Kumarkhand, Madhepura, which received 110.2 mm. In the state capital, the maximum temperature dropped by three degrees, settling at 34.9°C.
Thursday also marked a significant weather milestone, as Patna recorded its lowest maximum temperature in three years. Conversely, the highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded in Arwal district, reaching 38.5°C.
