Patna: Narendra Narayan Yadav was on Monday appointed as the Pro-tem Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, taking the oath of office from Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at the Raj Bhavan’s Darbar Hall.
The ceremony was attended by senior state leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor Robert L. Chongthu, and Secretary of the Parliamentary Affairs Department Anupam Kumar, among others.

Yadav, a veteran Janata Dal (United) leader, represents the Alamganj Assembly constituency in Madhepura district and has secured victory in eight consecutive elections. His political career includes previous ministerial roles, reflecting his long-standing influence in state politics.
As Pro-tem Speaker, Yadav will administer the oath of office and secrecy to newly elected members of the legislative assembly and will oversee the election of the full-time Speaker.
