Saharsa: Rakesh Roshan, a 45-year-old manager at IDBI Bank, was found dead in his Saharsa home on Tuesday, in what police suspect was a suicide. His body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan, with a note citing work-related stress and family disputes as reasons for his death.
Roshan was reportedly alone at the time; his wife and children were attending a family wedding in Godda, Jharkhand. The suicide note also contained a request for the bank to provide employment for his wife.

According to police, the alarm was raised when Roshan failed to report to the bank by 10 a.m. His colleagues, unable to reach him by phone, went to his residence, where they discovered the body after peeping through a ventilation opening. Police subsequently forced entry and recovered the body.
Roshan, who lived on rent with his wife, two sons, and a daughter, had served as a manager in Saharsa for two years, following three years in Supaul. Colleagues described him as composed and cheerful.
Roshan’s personal life included a second marriage to Pooja Roshan in 2017. She had previously lost her first husband in a road accident while pregnant, and Rakesh later embraced her son from that marriage. The couple also had two children together.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem and collected evidence from the scene. While initial indications point to suicide, authorities are investigating whether other factors may have contributed to his death.
Subodh Kumar, chief of Saharsa Sadar police station, said: “At first glance, it appears to be a case of suicide. The note mentions family disputes and work pressure, but the investigation will continue to determine if there were any additional circumstances.”
