Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the schedule for the 2026 Intermediate and Matriculation examinations, confirming that Intermediate exams will be held from February 2 to 13, while Matric exams will take place from February 17 to 25. The dates were revealed on Friday by board chairman Anand Kishore during a press briefing. Form submissions will remain open until December 3.
Kishore said the board is adopting new technologies this year to improve transparency and prevent malpractice. An AI-powered chatbot and a dedicated mobile application will provide students with information and support, while artificial intelligence systems will be used to detect duplication and irregularities in exam processes. Around 2.5 million students are expected to sit the exams.

The schedule remains consistent with the trend of recent years. Over the past five exam cycles, Intermediate examinations have routinely begun in the first week of February and Matric examinations in mid-February, with results generally released in March. For instance, in 2025, the Intermediate exams were conducted from February 1 to 15 and Matric exams from February 17 to 24; in 2024, the Intermediate exams ran from February 1 to 12 and Matric exams again from February 17 to 24. In earlier years—including 2023, 2022 and 2021—Intermediate exams also commenced around February 1 or 2, with results declared in March.
