While the airline claims passengers are being notified at least eight hours in advance, many travellers reported receiving cancellation messages only after arriving at the airport from districts as far as Bhagalpur and Munger. Several said they had already spent money on road travel before learning their flights had been grounded.
The inquiry counters at the terminal witnessed angry confrontations as exhausted passengers demanded answers. IndiGo staff advised many to cancel their bookings altogether, assuring them that refunds would be processed, though several travellers said they had yet to receive their money back.
Ranvijay Singh, whose son was booked on a Jaipur–Patna flight, said the family had no choice but to arrange a bus journey after receiving a late cancellation message. “Our ticket for December 6 was cancelled, and we are still waiting for a refund,” he said.
Airlines have urged passengers to monitor updates on their official apps and websites, but the uncertainty and repeated cancellations have left many unsure of when services will return to normal.
