Patna: The Bihar government’s Department of Mines and Geology has ordered the transfer of nine mineral inspectors, appointing new officers in Jehanabad, Gaya and Banka districts, officials said on Wednesday. According to the official notification, Dinesh Kumar has been posted as mineral inspector in Jehanabad, Mrityunjay Kumar Jha in Gaya, and Preeti Lata has also been assigned to Gaya. The department said the reshuffle was part of routine administrative reorganisation.
Six inspectors previously posted in districts have been directed to report to the department’s headquarters. These include Alka Kumari from Banka, Nair Sabik from Jehanabad, Pravan Suman from Gaya, Rahul Mahato from Kishanganj, Abhilasha Gupta from Nalanda, and Mansi Priya from Darbhanga.
The transfer orders have been formally issued and are expected to take effect immediately. Officials said the changes were aimed at strengthening administrative oversight and streamlining operations in the mining and geology sector.
Separately, Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Sinha has convened a meeting of departmental officials on Thursday. The meeting will include additional district magistrates, deputy collectors (land reforms) and circle officers, and will be held at Gyan Bhavan in Patna.
Senior officials said the meeting would focus on reviewing land-related issues and issuing directions for their speedy resolution. Since assuming charge, Sinha has been conducting regular reviews and directing officials to prioritise public grievances related to land records and revenue administration.
