Patna: A day after a grand roadshow announced his return to Patna as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s national working president, Bankipur MLA Nitin Nabin spent Wednesday blending religious observance with organisational outreach, signalling both continuity and consolidation in his new role.
Nabin began the second day of his two-day visit by offering prayers at the Kali temple near Bans Ghat, accompanied by BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi. He later planned visits to the Akhand Vasini temple near Golghar and Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib, where he is scheduled to pray for the peace and prosperity of the state and the country before leaving for Delhi in the late afternoon.
Alongside the religious engagements, the focus remains firmly on party organisation. Nabin will hold a meeting with booth-level agents (BLA-2) and BJP workers from the Bankipur assembly constituency at his official residence on Taylor Road. Party leaders said the discussion will centre on strengthening the BJP’s grassroots network, clarifying the role of workers, and aligning local organisation with the party’s broader political strategy.
Nabin’s Patna visit comes a week after his appointment as national working president, a role that has elevated his profile within the party. On Tuesday, his arrival in the city was marked by a six-kilometre roadshow from Patna airport, featuring a large turnout of supporters, cultural performances and a procession that included elephants, camels and horses. He also offered prayers at the Hanuman temple in Rajvanshi Nagar during the first day of the visit.
Addressing party workers, Saraogi described Nabin’s elevation as both an honour and a responsibility. He said the Bihar unit of the BJP would work in close coordination with the state and central leadership to advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of building a developed India by 2047, adding that organisational discipline and cohesion would be key to pushing Bihar’s development agenda.
For Nabin, the carefully choreographed mix of devotion and party meetings appeared designed to underline his roots in Patna while projecting readiness for a larger national role within the BJP’s organisational structure.
