Patna: The Bihar transport department is considering the introduction of two new inter-district bus routes from Patna to Kakolat and Rajgir, and has invited public suggestions and objections before a final decision is taken.
The Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Patna, has submitted a proposal recommending the notification of the two routes. The transport department has asked stakeholders to submit their views by December 26.
According to officials, the proposed Patna–Kakolat route would pass through Fatuha, Daniyawan, Nagarnausa, Chandi, Nursarai, Biharsharif, Deepnagar, Nalanda, Silao, Rajgir, Nardiganj, Hisua and Narhat. The Patna–Rajgir service is planned to operate via Daniyawan, Hilsa, Ekangarsarai, Islampur, Nalanda and Siwan.
If approved, the new routes are expected to improve connectivity between the state capital and key tourist and regional centres, including the popular Kakolat waterfall and the historic town of Rajgir.
