Patna: Eastern Railway will introduce new schedules for 27 trains from January 1, 2026, in a move expected to impact thousands of passengers travelling on the Bhagalpur route. The changes, which include both long-distance express services and local passenger trains, are part of efforts to improve punctuality and smooth day-to-day operations across the network.
A total of 15 express trains and 12 local passenger services will run on revised timings. The most significant change affects the Vananchal Express, whose arrival in Ranchi will be 45 minutes later than at present. Meanwhile, the Gomtinagar–Godda Express will now reach its destination five minutes earlier.
Rail officials say the overhaul will help reduce delays and improve connections. Passengers are advised to check the updated timings on the official Indian Railways portal or local enquiry counters before starting their journeys.
Among local services, the Hansdiha–Bhagalpur night train will now depart at 10:50 pm and arrive at 1:05 am, while the Bhagalpur–Hansdiha service will run at 8:30 pm, reaching its destination at 10:40 pm. Daytime local services to Hansdiha and Jamalpur have also been adjusted.
